Joe Giangrasso has the unique and distinguished career of working as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New York Yankees in 2011-2013. Prior to working with the Yankees, Joe was the Strength Coach for the Milwaukee Brewers Dominican Instructional League. His experience also includes working for two years in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Chatham Anglers. His goals included demonstrating the value a strength coach holds to a team and players who were unaware of how to train during the summer season. Today, he is a consultant to more than twenty professional baseball players.

Professional Baseball Experience

Education

Coach Giangrasso graduated from Barry University with a Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science. Joe’s internship was completed at one of the top Heart Hospital in the country, Broward General Hospital. Here he completed the cardiac rehabilitation and inpatient therapy care program. While a student, he pitched for the Barry University baseball team at Miami Shores. In addition, Joe was an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to the Barry Baseball Coach, Marc Pavao during the 2009-2010 season. Giangrasso also worked with the Barry golf team. Coach Joe managed the Barry University Fitness Center as well. He served as the Wellness Ambassador presenting health related seminars to faculty and students regularly. Joe has also spoken to 500 coaches at multiple conferences over the years on the health of the athletes shoulder and physical preparation.

Joe has worked and studied under the famous Strength and Conditioning Coach, Eric Cressey at Cressey Performance in Massachusetts. While at Cressey Performance, he worked with major league, minor league, and DI-D III baseball players as well as players from the independent league. Coach Giangrasso has also worked under the famous Strength and Conditioning Coach, Mike Boyle at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning in the summer of 2011. For the last year, Giangrasso has been attending the Pastoral Restoration Institute and will receive his PRT Certification in December 2016.


Publications

In 2010, Coach Joe published, as a contributor, a book with the professional golfer, Hun Duck Kim and 2005 Women's U.S. Open Champion, Birdie Kim. Currently, Joe is working on a new book entitled “The Growing Athlete” which focuses on training, nutrition and the psychological aspects of sports for high school and college students. In addition, Giangrasso is developing a blueprint on strength and conditioning for all coaches. This comprehensive guide will serve as a foundation for all coaches.

Coach Joe has worked with athletes from elementary, high school, college, professional, International track and field and Olympians. In addition, he has trained a renowned fashion designer, a contemporary famous musician, actors and actresses, prominent CEO’S in the finance and business world. He has also trained a variety of and health care professionals to get them past their aches and pain while still maintaining a training effect (physical therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, massage therapists,). He has also worked with people who have had a variety of surgeries as well as the elderly with COPD, the handicapped and the blind. His passion is comprehensive as he improves the quality of life for all people improving their energy, mood, focus and abilities.
